Aldwyck volunteer Savannah Gladden wins Young Volunteer of the Year Award
One of Aldwyck’s youth volunteers, Savannah Gladden has won the Young Volunteer of the Year Award at the Pride of Houghton Awards.
Savannah came to Aldwyck four years ago, vulnerable and low in confidence and self-esteem. She managed to attend the youth hub every week. In order to challenge herself she decided to become a volunteer for Aldwyck’s Community Involvement Team so she could help other young people. Savannah is now a confident young person who attends college. She has achieved over 700 volunteering hours and has also achieved 26 AQA outcomes in healthy eating and lifestyle.
Aldwyck’s Community Involvement Team helps support young people in the local community offering them the chance to gain valuable work experience through volunteering.
The team holds a variety of events throughout the year to encourage the local community to come together.
The awards took place on Saturday 13 October in Houghton Regis.
